Dr Sanjay Pattanayak is an established psychiatrist working as a senior consultant at Vimhans Hospital, Delhi. He takes special interest in cases related to depression, ADHD, bipolar mood disorders, schizophrenia, alcohol and drug abuse, OCD substance disorders. Before joining Vimhans hospital, he had a good 6 year clinical, research and teaching experience with AIIMS. He is thoroughly trained in managing complex cases of alcohol and drug abuse at the Apex Institute - National Drug Dependence and Treatment Centre (NDDTC, AIIMS).

Many post-graduate students and psychologists have received training under the watchful eyes of Dr Sanjay. Currently, he is spearheading a multi-disciplinary mental health team of Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and Nursing staff. This is 3rd year with careful medications to my son but sudden suicidal attempts taken by him without any reason cause us disturbed if all medicines fail to control these suicidal & criminal thoughts what should be the next step by us to hold him stable pacitane, clozapine, lithium ativan,asprito 15, risperdal,etc. Fail to hold him. Smoking , urge to go in jail. Quiet embarrassing state of mind at once feel hatred for someone other. Please advise ?


"About Mental Problem"

Hello sir, I'm Shashi Ranjan, sir, my sister has a problem that she unable to decide anything what to do or what have to avoid. She always talk to herself within the half hour,not talking to anybody in our family, like she is out of this planet. She is suffering from 2 or 3 years. When her marriage was not final she is behaving like mad people. When we go for the treatment,doctors gives him shorts which was said my sister when she is feeling good. When my family asked her that what was the doctor do now she is pregnent from 3 months. Now she is behaving like that. My jiju is a engineer who came from U.S.A ast few days before. Now try to settled there. He dont know anything about my sister for these problem but this time he understood somemthing. Please help me sir.I am very greatful to you.

"Depressed Mother"

Hello Doctor,i need your urgent help.My mother has the prblem of suspecting my father. This started three years ago but now has worsened. She starts shouting and has become carefree in wrong sense. She has refused medication and blames everybody else. Everyday there are fights which finally leads to hand scuffle between the two.Since i am in Jammu, i am not sure how to deal with the issue.Kindly respond.I will be thankful to you.
